A skip-hire fee covers several moving parts. You get the skip itself (delivered and collected), the vehicle and labour to handle the transport, and licensed disposal—our contractor takes your waste to an authorised facility and provides a waste transfer note for your records. On site, we'll load bulky items like sofas, mattresses, and old furniture directly into the skip if you place them nearby. Most general household rubbish, garden waste, and construction rubble (bricks, plasterboard, timber) are included without surprise add-ons.
What's not included: asbestos, liquids (paint, oil, solvents), car batteries, and tyres require specialist disposal and are charged separately, or you'll need to arrange removal elsewhere. If your skip is on a public highway in Erdington, you're responsible for obtaining a skip permit from the local authority under the Highways Act 1980 Section 139—we can advise on the process, but the permit fee and application are your cost. Dismantling large items (sheds, hot tubs) before they go in is your job unless you've arranged labour with us in advance.
